PWS Lake 8-8 Water Distiller

Not trusting our water supply, I bought our family a PWS 8-8 water distiller in 2001. Our distiller has since provided thousands of gallons of high quality water for drinking and cooking with minimal maintenance. I was online ordering a backup heating element and gasket (seem to last 11-12 years) when I noticed there are no ratings for this fantastic distiller. I want you to know, PWS water distillers are tough! Unfortunately, not many items are made to last now days. Without doubt, I'll be using this unit for another 20+ years. We live in an agricultural community that has been heavily treated with herbicides and pesticides. In addition, there is a high level of naturally occurring arsenic present in all local wells and city water supplies. I consider my decision to purchase a distiller many years ago for the health of my family one of the very best decisions I have ever made. That first distiller, after many years, needed replacement. The Precision distiller PWS-8 Lake Model distiller that I purchased 3 months ago is absolutely a pleasure to own. The placement of the drain opening and factory installed ball valve for easy draining on the bottom of the boiling tank provides easy discharge of impurities when performing routine maintenance. Some distillers have drain openings on the side of the boiling tank which inhibits an easy and thorough cleaning process. The stainless-steel spigot and sight glass are excellent. Some brands of distillers lack a sight glass, and the spigots are made of plastic. A powerful Dayton fan cools the distillation coils; many other distillers use small computer fans. The Precision distiller came with great instructions and was easy to set up and start. The units boiling tank should absolutely be drained as per instructions. A floor drain is recommended. We did not have a floor drain in our attached garage so by locating the distiller near an outside wall a 1 ½” hole allowed us to route the drain outside and made flushing the boiling tank simple. The employees at Water Specialties / Precision Water Distillers are extremely knowledgeable and have provided great information and service. We had one self-inflicted glitch with our distiller due to my negligence in boiling tank drainage. The help and service we received in solving our problem was excellent and appreciated.
